             I reached Mandav. Mandav is a very small village in Dhar district in MP. It is famous at world labels due to its historical monument. Nowadays it has emerged as a picnic spot. So many visitors come to Mandav in the rainy season.



How to reach Mandav


              Mandav is 99 km from Indore. Buses are available from Indore and Dhar. Local buses are also available between Mandav and Dhar. These takes to much time due to their time scheduled.

       There are hotels and holiday homes available for staying.

             If you stayed at Indore and want to perform the journey within a day, you should start the journey early in the morning. Own car or taxi will be convenient in comparison to the bus.

Rani Roopmati Mehal

           Rani Roopmati Mehal is a famous place. Mugal and Afghan architecture found in the Mehal. Maa Narmada(river) visible just like a thin line from the roof of the Mehal. It is said Rani  Roopmati daily performed darshan(seen) and puja of Maa Narmada from the roof of Mehal.

Baj Bahadur Mehal

              Baj Bahadur was general of the state. A love story between Baj Bahadur and rani Roopmati is also famous.

Jahaz Mehal

          Jahaz Mehal was the main darbar along with residents. The rooms are available here, you cant count them. Proper arrangements for coldness and cross ventilation is visible. The storage and drainage system of water in the Mehal shows the ancient system. Jahaz Mehal is situated between two lakes and looks like a ship so it's called Jahaz Mehal. In the rainy season when both the lakes full of water, It looks like a real ship. The beautiful garden in front of the Jahaz  Mehal maintained by authorities is very good.

              Jama Masjid is also famous for his architecture. It is nearest to the village. Behind the Jama Masjid, there is a white marble dome. That is Hoshang Shah tomb.

Nearest airport

                 Indore airport is at a distance of 96 kilometers. You can include Omkarewer along with the trip which is 104 km from Mandav. One more thing Mandav, Omkarshwar, and Maheshwar are situated at trialing positions. The first day you visit Mandav and stay there at night. Next morning you can take a taxi to Maheshwar and Omkareshwar. Maheshwar which is in the way of Omkareshwar, famous for its Narmada Ghat.
