Kanyakumari

Vivekanand rock kanyakumari

I reached Kanyakumari in the afternoon. May is another name of hot days. Rainy season started here in the first week of June every year.

Brothers and sisters these were the words of a saint echo in Chicago America in world religious conference in 1893. The saint was Swamy Vivekanand. Swamy Vivekanand Rock Memorial is a famous visit point of Kanyakumari.

I have adopted the principle that Pehle Pet Puja Fir Kam Duja. (first, eat something then do anything)

The name of city Kanyakumari came from goddess Kanya Devi who prayed here for marriage with Lord Shiva.

I asked the manager what to see in Kanyakumari.

Swamy Vivekanand came here after Bharat Bhrman Yatra (visit India tour). He meditated on the rock. He was a deep follower of Devi.

You can visit here by boat because the memorial is surrounded by seawater. The Ramakrishna mission trust manage boat, but they allowed (provide ticket) up 4.30 PM.So be attentive for time.

There are two Mandapam (hall) in the memorial. Vivekanand Mandapam and Shripada Mandapam.

Kanyakumari Beaches

Kanyakumari Beach

Kanyakumari has long beautiful beaches. It is a rocky beach so not suitable for swimming. You can take a beautiful sunrise and sunset photography and selfie. The waves hit the rock, again and again, created sound in rhythm. It is felt that rock and water harmonized each other. Wonderful.

Meeting Point of Three Sea

Kanyakumari Beach

Kanyakumari is the place where three seas met each other. The name of these seas is the Arabian Sea, Bay of Bengal and the Indian Ocean. The place is called Triveni Sangam.

The devotees have deep faith in Triveni Sangam. They take a dip in Triveni Sangam. Let's come on took a dip, and forget all sins, whether they deposit in your account knowingly or unknowingly, and take an oath not doing wrong in the life hereafter.

You can gauge three seas through the shadow (color) of water. A nice and mesmerizing experience.

Sunrise and Sunset Point

My watch(phone watch is more appropriate) is saying that I should reach Sunset point.

Kanyakumari Sunset

Kanyakumari beach is the only beach, where you can view both sunrise and sunset clearly. Take a memory of your near and dear. Don't forget yourself, take a selfie also.

How to Reach Kanyakumari

Kanyakumari is well connected to another part of the country. Trivandrum airport 67 km, is the nearest airport.you can travel up to  Kanyakumari by rail. Trivandrum the capital of Kerala is only 90 Km from Kanyakumari. You can take a taxi or changed another train to Kanyakumari. Regular buses of Tamilnadu Roadways from Chhani, Madurai Rameshwaram and other cities are available.

I am standing here at the beach of Kanyakumari. The view of Vivekanand Rock
Memorial is very clear from here. The thought of Swamy Vivekanand reverberates in my ear, in my mind, and in my heart. The meaning of his quote is that our soul is the greatest teacher. We have to develop the inner side that will reflect out. If we believe self than we can get the supreme power of God.

I have to move to Rameshwaram by 11.30 pm train. So I packed my bag and prepared for the train.
