Dwarkadhish Bhagwan Shri Krishna Post-15

Dwarkadhish Temple

Dwarkadhish ke Darshan

Early in the morning we once again went to Somnath temple. Auspicious Aarti has started as we reached.

Thereafter we moved to Dwarkadhish. It was an adorable 215  Km travel by bus.

On the left-hand side, along the road, there is the Arabian sea.

As long as we can see, water.... water.... water.
Boundary-less water. when we saw nature in the form of water and nature is the other name of God.

Man always proud of his existence and says he can do everything. Here in front of the sea, it proved that he is a small part of nature not the master of nature.

I told the conductor that we can stay here for some time.

No sir, I have to touch (reach) Dwarka at a scheduled time.

If you come here, taxi/cab is suitable for this wonderful Somnath Dwarka road journey.

Jagat Mandir (Dwarkadhish Temple)

dwarkadhish Jagat Mandir

The Dwarkadhish temple also known as Jagat Mandir, is situated in the middle of the city. There is two gates in the temple. Swarg Dwar is for the entrance of pilgrim while Moksha Dwar is for the exit.

It is said that the temple built by Varjabh who was the grandson of Lord Krishna. Five stories temple stands on 72 pillars. The 2500-year-old temple constructed of limestone and sand.

The black idol of Lord Krishna is very beautiful. Mangla Aarti and Shyan Aarti performed at 6.30 and 8.30pm respectively.

Pilgrims take a dip in Gomti Kund near to Swarg Dwar before entering the temple.

The other temples in the compound are dedicated to Balram and Revti, Subdra, Devki, and Maa Laxmi.

The flag (84 feet long) hosted at the dome of the temple which can be seen from long distance.

After visiting the temple we are feeling innermost energy.

Char Dham Journey

Adi Shankaracharya who has established Dwarka Peeth here declared four auspicious places for the pilgrim. Dwarkadhish is one of them. Other places are Badrinath, Jagannathpuri, and Rameshwaram.

Now our taxi moved to Bet Dwark

Rukmani Temple

Rukmani temple

Rukmani temple is first in the way of Bet Dwarka. It is near about 2 Km from the Jagat temple. Beautiful granite temple dedicated to goddess Rukmani Devi. There is nice painting, carving of Lord Krishna on the wall of the temple.

The story behind Rukmani Temple

It is said that Lord Krishna and Rukmani Devi has invited Durvasa Muni for dinner. As all of us heard that Durvasa Muni was a very short temper.

On invitation, Durvasa Muni agreed to move with them. Lord Krishna and Rukmani them- self pulled the Rath (card).During the process in midway, Rukmani got thirsty and asked Lord Krishna for help.

Lord Krishna presses his toe on the ground and there was a stream of Ganga water that appeared.

Durvasa Muni saw when Rukmani Devi drinking water. He was angry that without offering water to the gust she took herself first. The act is against etiquette.

Durvasa Muni cursed that you should live separate from Lord Krishna for twelve years.

That is why goddess Rukmani Devi worship alone in this temple and idol of Lord Krishna is at Jagat temple.

Nageshwar Jyotirlinga

During the way of Bet Dwarka, Nagsshar Jyotirling is another important place to visit. It is near about 20 Km from the Jagat temple.

The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and count one of the twelve famous Jyotirlinga. Calm, peaceful inside and outside, well-maintained temple. We have not seen the heavy crowd as we saw in another Jyotirlinga. One can perform his Puja, Darshan, and Jalabhishek in a peaceful manner.

There is a big statue of Lord Shiva in premises which was constructed by late Shri Gulshan Kumar. (T series cassette)

Gopi Talab

gopi talab

After five Km, at last, we stay at Gopi Talab (pond). The pond is surrounded by yellow soil. The soil called Gopi Chandan and used in the worship of God.

There are many myths and legends about the pond. Accordingly

The Gopies of Vrindavan came here to meet Lord Krishna. Gopies and Lord Krishna have performed last Rasleela (dance) here. Thereafter Lord Krishna went to Bet Dwarka.

All the Gopies could not bear this separation of Lord Krishna. They became fainted and died. All the souls merged in God. That is why the soil of this area is soft and yellowish. The soil called Gopi Chandan.

According to another myth that Lord Krishna sent all his queens to Bet Dwarka under protection and escort of Arjun. At Gopi Talab,   Bheel (tribal person) attacked on Arjuna and defeated him. Arjuna who fought and won the battle of Maha Bharat, could not face some Bheels. All the queens jumped into the pond and died.

Now finally we reach Bet Dwarka.

Story of Sudama

All of us know that Lord Krishna and Sudama were friends from childhood. Sudama was a strong friend from boyhood. But he was poor He depends on Biksha (beggar-ship) for his livelihood. Sudama's wife told to her husband that Lord Krishna who is king of Dwarka is your friend. Meet him for some help.

Sudama went to Dwarka to meet his friend. He has no bet (gift) for his friend. So he kept some rice in his muffler (Gmchha) as a gift for his friend.

Lord Krishna accepted his rice and remove his poverty. The place became famous as Bet Dwarka.

Today also pilgrim donate rice here for prosperity and happiness.

Hanuman temple is another point for visiting at Bet Dwarka. The idol of Hanuman and his son Makardhavaj are established in the temple.

The sun was going to take a dip in the sea. It is plumbaginous  evening. we returned to Dwarka city for remaining visit places.

Gita Mandir

Well maintained, peaceful atmosphere in the temple. Lord Krishna preaching Gita message to Arjuna having Sudarshan and Panjanya in his hand.

Gita eslok showed on the pillar of the temple.
